Artist Douglas C. Hess captures the passion of the moment when Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram was overcome realizing the emotion of the championship. In that moment, Ingram and all of the Alabama players knew that buying into Coach Saban’s philosophy of discipline, hard work, persistence, overcoming adversity and mental and physical toughness was all worth it, achieving their ultimate goal; winning the National title and bringing it back to Tuscaloosa after a long 17 years.

 

The title of the painting, “Championship Passion,” reflects the Alabama Football program from the Coach to the players to the fans. The passion for Alabama Football is proven by the attendance of 92,000 people at the spring game.
